Solid Geeks is a community of developers who build free software and hold it to professional standards. If it runs the world, it should be open.

The app hub

Built by the community and held to the Solid standard. Every line is open: run them, read them, send a pull request.

Security · Incident response

Muster

Incident response playbooks, drawn, versioned and run live.

Security teams draw their playbooks as diagrams, keep every version, and run them step by step during a real incident or a tabletop exercise. The incident report writes itself from the run.

  • Visual editor for actions, decisions and escalations, validated before publishing
  • Live runs with SLA clocks and a shared timeline; exercise mode up to ×300
  • Report drafts exported to PDF or Markdown; ten NIST-mapped playbooks included

Security · Network mapping

Strata

Your network, in layers.

A 3D map of an organisation’s information system: zones, VLANs, assets and flows stacked as layers, with what is exposed, what is vulnerable, how an attacker would get in and who to call. Every change is reviewed before it reaches the map.

  • 3D model and 2D diagram sharing the same positions, with application and business views
  • Attack paths from the Internet to the critical assets, blast radius of any asset, and risk priorities from CVSS, EPSS and CISA KEV
  • An architecture file per IS for audits and accreditation
  • Connectors as modules, each in its own restricted process: Cyberwatch, GLPI, phpIPAM and Palo Alto built in, NetBox, Nmap and CSV from the module store, and room for the community’s own

The Locked World

Lockware has locked the city. Unlock it.

A ten-level shooter that runs in the browser. Fight your way through with the Solid Geeks crew, picking up a new teammate and a new power at the end of every level.

  • Ten levels, ten mechanics: fog, wave arena, escort, stealth, tower defence, license ammo, a vertical scroller, a chase and more
  • Keyboard and mouse, or two-thumb touch controls on phones
  • Progress saved in your browser; nothing to install

Open Source the World

The Grid runs on code nobody can read. Set it free.

An open-world game that runs in the browser. Walk seven districts, breach proprietary nodes, outrun the ICE and help the Solid Geeks crew liberate every line of code, all the way to THE MONOLITH.

  • Seven districts, each with a member of the crew, its quests and a locked core
  • Timed breach puzzles, ICE to outrun, upgrades, ranks and achievements
  • Keyboard or touch controls; progress saved in your browser

What we stand for

Most of the software that runs the world is locked. We build the open alternative, and we don't ask permission to start.

The Solid standard

Every Solid Geeks project ships with the same baseline, so you know what you get before you read a line of code.

  • A license from our policy, declared in every source file with an SPDX header.
  • Tests that run in CI on every pull request.
  • A SECURITY.md with a private way to report vulnerabilities.
  • Signed releases and a changelog people can read.
  • Docs a newcomer can follow from clone to first run.
  • Commits signed off under the Developer Certificate of Origin.

How we license

Copyleft by default, so what we open stays open. Contributors keep the rights to their work: no CLA, only a sign-off.
